People
Nitti Intelligence keeps a record of every politician: who they are, what they do now, and everything they have said and done. One card shows a person at a glance, the same in both products. In Nitti Intelligence it is a person in the gallery of a table; in Polyther it is someone followed on the front desk.
The card
Read from the top, each part answers one question: who, what now, in short, a few facts, how much, and lately. Every part but the first is optional, so the same card shows a lot or a little. The second card here has fewer parts switched on; the third is someone who has left.
What a card shows
The card has no settings of its own. It shows the parts it is given, and whoever places it decides which: a table passes on what the person has switched on under View, a widget shows what fits. So what you see of a politician is your choice, and it is the same choice whether they are a row or a card.
| Part | What it holds | When it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Who | The portrait, the name in the display face, and the party with its mark. | Always. With no portrait, the initials stand in. |
| What now | The role held now, with a dot while it is held, and what goes with it: the committee, the ministry, since when. | Says “No current role” for someone who has left; it is never just missing. |
| In short | Two or three lines on what they work on. | Only when there is a summary. Cut at three lines. |
| Facts | A few pairs of name and value: constituency, committee, born, present at votes. | The ones that are switched on, and that have a value. |
| How much | Counts in a row: votes, questions, motions, speeches. | The ones that are switched on. |
| Lately | The latest things they did, newest first, each with what it was and when. | Two at most; one on the compact card. |
A table of people, as a gallery
The people table in Nitti Intelligence, shown as cards. A card opens the person's page. It is the same table: the same search, filters, order and pages, with a switch beside View to go between cards and rows. Sort stands in the toolbar where the headers were, and View chooses what a card shows. Try it: filter by party, order by speeches, switch a part off under View, then switch to rows.
A person's page
Open a card and this is the page behind it. The same who and what now as the card, at the size of a page; then what they hold, where they appear in the record and what they have said, as rows on the page with a hairline under each, not as boxes. Headings are in sentence case with a count. A relation is a word (voted, signed, asked), never a chip in capitals, and what no longer holds is folded away as a count: 18 earlier. Beside the rows: how they vote, how much they speak, and the plain facts with where they come from. Open a row under In the record to see the newest few.
As one row
The compact card: who and what now on two lines, for a list of people or a place with little room. It can carry the latest thing they did.
In a Polyther widget
On the front desk the same card follows people: a tile of the people you follow, each with the latest thing they did, and one person in a tile of their own. Inside a tile the card has no surface of its own; the tile is the card.
